דָּֽרְבָן
דָּֽרְבָןm. (b. h.; a contr. of דברברן, v. דְּבַר) (leader, goad, the iron point on the staff (מַלְמֵד); also the spud at the end of the handle of the ploughshare (v. Sm. Ant. s. vv. Aratrum a Catrinos). Ḥag.3b מה ד׳ זהוכ׳ as the goad directs the cow Kel. IX, 6 מלמד שבלע הד׳ a goad (handle) in which the iron point was driven in so that nothing could be seen of it. Ib. XXV, 2, v. מַרְדֵּעַ. Tosef. ib. B. Mets.IV, 4. Pesik. Baḥod. p. 153a>; Y.Snh.X, 28a, a. e., v. דּוּר I. Ib. אדם עושה ד׳ לפרתווכ׳ man makes a goad to direct his cow, and to his (evil) inclination should he not ?Pl. דָּרְבֹנוֹת, דָּרְבוֹנוֹת. Koh. R. to XII, 11; Num. R. s. 15 (quoted fr.
