דָּֽרְבָן

דָּֽרְבָןm. (b. h.; a contr. of דברברן, v. דְּבַר) (leader, goad, the iron point on the staff (מַלְמֵד); also the spud at the end of the handle of the ploughshare (v. Sm. Ant. s. vv. Aratrum a Catrinos). Ḥag.3b מה ד׳ זהוכ׳ as the goad directs the cow Kel. IX, 6 מלמד שבלע הד׳ a goad (handle) in which the iron point was driven in so that nothing could be seen of it. Ib.
